Happy New Year Baby
I have made a decision to try to actually USE UP COMPLETELY some of my stuff!! This in particular was a kit from Scraptivity going back a few years now, when Wendy was still the owner. I'm not big on purple, so this kit wouldn't have been one of my favourites, had it not been for this particular pp, (Daisy D's, who have since stopped manufacturing. :( ) and the AWESOME stamps that came with this kit! Check out the Gelatins build your own flourish for an incredible set of clear stamps!! I didn't use them on this layout oddly, but it did take tonnes of hand cutting to get this one finished...then I realized after I uploaded and resized the picutre that there's a piced of rubon backing stuck on the lower left in the corner. Ugh. LOL
So, this is my girl, on New Years Eve, 2008-2009 I used some VERY Old paper, with some new Kaiser Pearls from Scrapshotz, new snowflakes from the turtle, and dollar stores, an old sizzix die for the chandalier, and large crown, newer QK dies for the other two crowns all from the Scrapping Turtle, and some rubons I just got for a steal at The Scraping Bug sale!

New discovery!
I was doing some scrapping on Friday night for a crop over at Scrapfan, and two of the challenges wer my fav's! One was to use glitter...not stickles, or pre-glittered embellies, but to actually use glitter on your layout. I had been cutting some intricate viney flourish dies, and decided to Xyron them. Now I am cheap. I used to have the Xyron machine, but I sold it, and I just use the cartridge alone. IT gets a bit sticky, but I don't waste piles of adhesive like the machine does. So, anyway, I cut the adhesive off that I needed and lay down my die cuts...then I cut off a piece of the clear plastic backing that is meant to pick up the waste adhesive, and put that over, burnish the whole thing, and when I lifted it off, I realized taht it was a really pretty pattern...and it was all sticky. ..so I tossed a pile of glitter on it, and it's soooo pretty!! Something out of garbage...literally! LOL That's what you see behind the first picture on the Christmas layout.
The second challenge I really loved was to do a layout with a pic cropped in a shape other than square or rectangle. Now I realize mine is still a rectangle, but not really. LOL I have a sizzix die that cuts into puzzle pieces. If you click on the layout, you will see it much bigger, adn you can barely tell that it's actually cut into 6 puzzle pieces! I offset one of the pieces, so show that. I just like how this one turned out...oh, and those orange viney flourishes, are the same ones I was xyroning in the first place! :)
Happy Scrappin' everyone!

Getting caught up
I just realized looking back, that I didn't post some of my favourties from the crop at the ScrappingNook http://thescrappingnook.ca/ from last weekend!
Snug as a Bug in a Rug
3am tea with Sarah
Yes, that would be my girl at 3:30 am after waking me up at 3 asking for tea, and not willing to give up. How could I not take pics of my turkey at 3 am sipping her tea? LOL
